Default Pre-ordering 2013 Q5 - Paperwork Questions

Hello Everyone,

A day ago I placed an order for 2013 3.0 TFSI Premium Plus Q5 (MSRP 54,000) It will be a purchase, not a lease.
I have no idea how pre-ordering works, and if there are any documents you have to sign or review before your car arrives.

We agreed on price over email - around 2K below MSRP, but since they charge almost $500 for Doc fees, I consider it to be $1500 below MSRP. Also, Audi loyalty discount will be applied to the final price, but it is a separate thing.

I was told to pay $500 deposit, which can be applied to a different Audi car in case I change my mind. I made that payment yesterday.

Now, how do I verify that my dealer put in the right order? How do I make sure that when the car arrives they do not change the price we agreed upon or add some bogus fees, e.g document delivery or advertising? I understand it should not be a problem with a reputable dealership, but this is the first time I'm dealing with them so I'm a little bit apprehensive.

Thank you!

They should give you a copy of the order sheet, with the price and with all the options you ordered. If they haven't, ask for it.

When I ordered my '10 A6, I prepared an excel spreadsheet outlining the deal (including TTL) down to the $.01, as well as the specs/options on the car....emailed it to my SA and asked him to confirm back via email that he agreed with all the terms (which he did). Other than a handshake and the email confirmation, I signed no other paperwork and no deposit was required.

When the car arrived, I met with the business manager, verified the bottom line # to my spreadsheet and signed the papers.

Nothing wrong with asking for a $500 deposit. In most states(maybe all states) it's refundable on demand should you decide to purchase elsewhere or not purchase at all. Previous posts mirror my thoughts. I'd ask for a copy of that "buyer's order". There's no reason they would balk at that request.

It shows you have committed to the vehicle. In sales customers are usually not sure.
