Thanks to the original poster for posting this. I just fit my european rear taillights to my wife's SQ5...MUCH better. I always hated the indicator AND the brake lights together being used as the turn signal as well as the turn signal being in red. Why Audi (and Merc and BMW) go through SO much trouble just to make the tail lights different is beyond me.

Two things....I did not swap the ends of the connectors. I simply lifted the little tan "keyed" part from the car's connectors (it hinges away when it unsnaps) and inserted the plug into the black European light connector. Again, boggles the mind that Audi goes through all that trouble to color and KEY the connectors. haha. I used little zip ties to keep them from falling out since the keyed part is the connector click. Works totally fine, no need to rewire anything.

Also, for me, the VAGCOM instructions were backwards. When I did the above, my brake light came on as the turn signal by itself instead of the turn signal by itself. I simply inverted the settings and all works perfectly. Here were my settings. 2016 SQ5.

channel: 195 – 51206 – set to 51212
channel:196 – 51238 – set to 51244
channel:197 –51206 – set to 51205
channel:198 – 51238 – set to 51237

I've problem with my parking lights in tail bumper. When trunk is closed the parking lights are turn on when I open trunk the parking lights don't turn off and lights in trunk also lit.

You using Euro Tails/US Tails?
Wiring setup?
What did you actually code...channels?

My car is Audi Q5 2015r from Canada. Rear lights are EU but worked like US.
I adaptioned lights in channels

In VCDS 46 Cental Conv->Secuirty Acces 16(16017)->10 Adaptaion:

I have 2 different tail light configurations..

My 2015 Q5 has Euro Tails with Euro wiring setup.

My Wife's Q5 has US Spec Tails with US wiring..

They are coded slightly different.

I will try and get you the information later this week.....currently out of town on business.

i m also interested by u re EU tailight coding ,i got EU Q5 with facelift tailight and i can t remove light and blinker on bumper

as u see light on bumper are always on blinker on bumper also work when blink....

Hello Everyone,

I Bough Audi Q5 from US which was imported to Europe. The car is FYB 2018 year new facelift Turbo2liters Premium Plus.

I have bough EU LED taillights and now we have to decode and adopt them and put proper coding for making them to work with EU blinkers.

I have few questions:

1. Do I need to swap any pins. the ones that I bought are ok with the connectors and they are entering without any problem.
2. Do I have to use this code? Or another one will do the work? Any advice on the new Audi Q5 would be much appreciated. Anyone from Europe that managed to do it?

Hi, i need problem with my Q5 2014 Premium Plus from USA. In the lamps, only the diodes from the indicators have been changed from red to orange. An electrician coded a car from the USA to the EU. The lamps in the hatch are lit correctly, but the problem is with the lamps in the bumper. They do not light up when the hatch is opened. Before coding on converted tubes, everything worked when opened and went out when closed. Please help me.

Thank you everyone for this really informative post. I'm about to do the tail light swap on my wife's 2013 Q5. I believe changes also need to be made to the tail lights in the bumper.

Will these codes adjust those also, or would that require additional codes?
