MOF -you sound like an angry person.... sorry.... guess you missed the emoticons at the end....
It's my wife's car and her pick's ---
her skills as an interior decorator makes her much more qualified than me to question what she wants on her car...
Guess I need to tell her she can't do that according to the experts on audiworld...

DOOH - looks of the wheels - she wanted it unique since two should up in her parking garage at the office...and she didn't like the sound of the lil 4 banger so we got a stop gap muffler swap until we find something like a turbo back I did on others...

And of course I am kidding ... before anyone blows a gasket. Seriously I didn't think this thread would have gotten this personal and out of hand.
I really don't see what the big deal is. It's not like the Q5 has any real differences in the S-Line and non S-Line. It's all aesthetic. Nothing to do with performance at all. They offer Exterior S-Line pkg, and Interior S-Line pkg. But only on the 3.2's. It's not like I'm making my car something it's not. I am just picking and choosing which options on the interior and exterior sport pkg I like. It would be different if I was Slapping TTRS badges on it and claiming I had a V12 engine under the hood. If I add running boards and front and rear chrome underplating is that considered taboo too?
I'm staying true to the car, the engine, Audi's vision, and customizing to my taste. I am using mostly OEM new parts where I can, and even if I can't (see chrome fog-lights) I am only putting on the round ones to stay true to the S-line look. And that's only because they don't make them in OEM. When I get the S-Tronic shifter and silver-stiched leather boot they will be OEM as well.
If they won't offer an S-Line in a 2.0, then I have to do it myself. It's really not a big deal. Some of you need to get over yourself. Maybe the fact that I am doing it for a hell of a lot less money than what you paid makes you mad, idk. Whatever it is, it's my car, and each of us will do what we want to our own vehicles. I'm not chopping the damn thing up or anything. Not adding Porche emblems, or slapping some goofy sticker across the back window. Seriously.

If you actually modified your car to have all the options the sline does it would cost you 2-3 times more.
BTW, this should be your next mod.

fun topic!
here in China many people can't get or afford a BMW, let alone an X5. so they badge this one: http://eliedh.com/wp-content/uploads...ake-bmw-x5.jpg (yeah they really add BMW logo's and X5 badges on it).
fake Breitlings and Rolexes come from here too, as do fake Nike shirts and shoes, other fake upscale clothing brands, and I guess fake S-line badges too....
customize your belongings all the way you want, but I feel like 'rebranding' your stuff is just pretty lame. wether its really applying a different brand, or just 'upgrading' your model, its all the same, and wrong..
swapping out parts (like steeringwheel and mats and inlays) that happen to have the S-line logo on them because you like those parts better than the original ones is one thing and can be justified to some level, but going as far as adding those little extra badges to the model-name, I have to agree with most here; not done

The "S" badge you put on the rear hatch is more performance oriented so I don't think it looks good to have something that signifies a higher-end performance model when it's not. For your s-line badges, whatever I say, as it's more cosmetic and it looks like you're doing some of the cosmetic upgrades yourself.
Get a stasis flash and throw a stasis badge on the rear. Would look good I think.

I have to agree with most here and say the badges look out of place and cheapen the look of the car. I personally think if Audi wanted they sline badge on all q5's they would, so it's not keeping up with the Audi look. The slines also don't have the badge on the rear or the front. The sline badge has a meaning behind it, its not just there for the sake of being there. Putting a q5 logo on the sides or front would make more sense. It's your car though, so if the badges make you happy then that's all that matters.
