Default Newbee radio question

I'm just over 2 weeks with my new Q5 and loving it, I can't believe all of the technology they packed into it!

What I can't figure out (so far) is whether there is supposed to be a way to turn the radio off, or do I just use the mute function?

Thanks - really enjoying the forum too.

Hold the volume button down until the screen displays the Audi logo and the text "MMI". It will come back on when you restart the car though.

Thanks, but won't that turn off the entire MMI? I just want to turn off the radio (sometimes).

You can always hit the Media/AUX button.

Unless you have something loaded there. The mute button has been what I've been using.

Not sure if '10s or '09s do this, but the '11s will not turn the MMI back on when you start the car if you turn it off by holding the volume down.

You can either mute it or turn it off.

Easiest way to mute is to short tap once on the power button. When you are playing music, this also pauses the playback as well. If you mute it and shut off the car, next time you start, it will begin with normal volume.

Long press the power button will turn off the MMI, and it won't come back next time your start, unless you turn it back on by yourself.
