Default MMI controls question

Hi,

I'm looking to pick up a Q5 facelift. May I ask which trims/years/specs have the MMI controls by the arm rests and which have them by the A/C? Several examples of both among the post 2013 cars I've seen.

Thanks in advance.

My 2017 Premium Plus with navigation looks like #1.

Thanks! Is one of the two easier to upgrade with Bluetooth, android or later MMI versions, and is there a common upgrade path for mirroring or at least decent audio quality?

My 2014 TDI P+ also looks like #1 as well.
but...
It's not the year that determines what your Q5 controls looks like, it's which stereo option did Audi install? #1 has the MMI; Multi Media Interface. #2 is the Audi Concert or Symphony radio.

A 2017 Q5 could very well have either #1 or #2 installed.

When I was looking at the MY 2014 Q5 trims, I wanted the MMI controls as shown in your #1 picture. What I determined was we needed to buy the Premium Plus trim to get that setup. The Premium trim level placed the MMI control as shown in your #2 pic.

I have premium plus with just about every option you can get except navigation and it looks like #2 on the right. The difference between the setups is navigation…

The ones with Nav (your image #1) have Bluetooth - no upgrade needed.
