Mirrors unfolding on icy day

Not so worried about the mirrors, but I was worried about the rear liftgate getting opened at an undesired time by an inadvertent press of the key fob.
I picked up two of these for the peace of mind:

Main concern was the wife as she keeps her key in her purse and didn't want her to have any accidents while rummaging.

If you're planning to keep the car after the warranty runs out then you may want to disable the auto fold. I had my Mercedes mirrors replaced at about 5 years - under extended warranty, but otherwise it would have been a $1500 repair.

For Q5 complete rear view mirror $380, or mirror motor for $120
