Depends. If they want to compete with the GLK, then Audi will have to have a low base and if not, then they can come in slightly lower than the X3.
We, in the US, should be able to order our vehicles like England does, more À la carte, so that we can control the cost of what we want to pay for an Audi. Just my $0.02 worth.

Closer to 40K if looking at Europe
Checking prices in Europe it probably will be closer to $40K for the 3.2TFSI.
I wonder when it will be officially announced since the web site still doesn't show the Q5 on their main page (Super Bowl?).

Re: Closer to 40K if looking at Europe
Hard to compare what Europe pays with what we'll pay for the vehicle here. Usually, what Europe pays in Euros, is what we pay in US dollars.
I was in Germany last February when the B8 A4 was just released and the price in Euros there is what we're currently are paying for the car here in the US. If Audi tried to charge the exchange Euro to US dollar, the car would base over $40K. I don't this many people here in the US would pay that much for a A4 2.0T.
As an example the A4 2.0T base in Euros is 31,970 and the base in US dollars is 32,700. At the current exchange of 1.3053 the car would cost $41,730 base here in the US.

Don't forget 19% sales tax in Germany
Remember prices In Europe include sales tax.
Just guessing but if I compare with German site (ignoring equipment levels):
A5 3.2TFSI Quattro: 45K euro - $ 41K
A4 2.0TFSI Quattro: 38K euro - $ 33K
A6 3.0TFSI Quattro: 48K euro - $ 50K
Q5 3.2TFSI Quattro: 46K euro - ??
Looking at that it seems Q5 will be around 40K. I assume pricing will be announced next month.
