I have my own word of caution for you. Keep using cheap oil, aftermarket parts, and shortcuts.............and your 2018 GL 300 will end up just like your Q5.

Looks like you did not keep your former Audis for long time.
Also, it depends how you accumulated the miles- ours were in city traffic, with either a traffic light or a stop sign on literally every corner (outer borough of NYC)

True, leased through my business. But, I would have kept any of them after lease - zero issues. I loved my TDI enough to buy out the lease and keep it. Still zero issues as noted.

We both loved the ride in Q5. The GLC feels less connected to the road and also feels more like an SUV, unlike the Q5 that felt almost like a sedan.
BUT: even though I spent probably close to $1K on repairs in 2021 alone, the Q needed about $2K more to bring it to a good driving condition.
So I decided to let it go, even though my wife loved the ride.
About a year ago, a shop owner told me, "When you start fixing you Audi, you will never finish".
Apparently, he was right.
I will not list here all the repairs that I have done myself or had mechanics do.
However, I advise all Audi owners not to keep their loved vehicles beyond 7-8 years/75K miles.
Good luck to all of you, and happy holidays!
This seems to be my experience as well. Once my Audi 2012 Q5 hit 7 years....it turned into a money pit. I could have bought and paid off a new car that would still be under warranty. But, no...I keep throwing money into this one. I should probably drive it out to the desert, douse it in gasoline, light a match and walk away. Although, gasoline is kinda pricey right now. Maybe, just drive it downtown, leave it running with the key inside and hope someone takes it.

I had the same experience. My C6 got so expensive to maintain that it as cheaper to buy a brand new C7 for CASH! I am only slightly exaggerating on the savings. Based on my experiences these cars get costly to maintain once they pass the 125k mile mark.

My main issue with Q5 is that it probably has a rattliest and creakiest interior out of all cars I had, starting with roof, of course, down to door panels, cigarette drawers, armrest, rear buckles - it drives me mad. Put anything into door pockets or coffee holder and it will rattle. Takes all the pleasure away., Anyone else feels same?

I agree. My 85k 2015 SQ5 ratles and squeaks more than my 175k Outback XT ever did. But still less than the Jeep GC/Durango SRT's I drove.

I finally decided to let Q5 go - noises were eating my brain taking the pleasure every single time. I sincerely tried to like this car, but it was upsetting in this regard. Mechanically it was sound. Traded it for an A6 Avant - not a squeak - day and night difference...
