At least we're not spending over $100 for 18 LEDs that do the same thing and don't come in fancy packaging with labels on them that tell you where they should go

USP now has a kit available under 100 for a set of 18. Just a heads up.

Interior bulbs do not give error, only the external (and it can be eliminated )

It's a light bulb! They cost pennies to make. Some are better quality and cost a few more pennies than others. I didn't buy them off ebay. I also didn't buy them from Turnerdomes. For what they charge, their bulbs should install themselves! I'd rather keep my money and find a more reasonably priced functional alternative, then spend it on bulbs marked up that much.

Incidently, an Audi purchase is not an "investment". At best it is a depreciable asset. "Investment" is what sales and marketing people tell consumers to make them feel better about parting with their hard-earned money. If you sincerely believe your Audi is an investment, then you might be interested in "investing" in some bananas on my kitchen counter.

Has anyone successfully changed out the reverse lights with LEDs and not had a bulb out error? If so which ones have worked. I tried some CANBUS LEDs (194 size). They lit up just fine but threw a bulb out code immediately.

You need VCDS. Try this.
Here are the steps:
1. Module 46 Central Convenience > Security Access 16 > 16017 (use this access code, not the one the ross-tech suggests)
2. Adaption 10 > Channel 181 >Read> Convert your decimal number to binary (for example number in decimal is 65535, converted to binary = 1111111111111111), then change bit 10 and 11 from 1 to 0 (new binary value becomes 1111001111111111, which is 62463 in decimal)
- binary values are read from right to left and start at 0
3. Enter 62463, hit test then save. Done.

You need to use your own decimal number in Adaption Channel 181 and convert to binary using some tools online http://acc6.its.brooklyn.cuny.edu/~g.../nav2tool.html , change bit 10 and 11 to zero, then convert back to decimal.

No more error message

Spijun, you are awesome. Thank you for this. Worked like a charm. A few questions for clarification. With this mod enabled it shouldn't matter if I am using CANBUS leds or not, correct? Also, did this mod just disable the bulb-out code for the back-up lights or all exterior lights?
Once again, thanks! This is why I like this forum.

You can use all kinds of LED bulbs
This mode is only for back up lights.
For other bulbs should be tested channels from 182 to 220, find which channel is responsible for a particular bulb. (Who has the time to do it )
I think for the other bulbs not worth putting LEDs

Sorry to drum an old thread, but I purchased LED puddle light replacements for my S4 and then used them in my Q5.

I wanted to get new ones for my new Q5, but for the life of me I can't find the vendor I purchased them from.

They were direct replacement assemblies. Just unplugged one and plugged the new assembly in. Anyone know who sells those. It looks like now everyone just sells the bulb itself. Thanks!
