My wife and I finally decided on a Q5. That was before the whole VW/Audi diesel issue came up. Given the current state of the companies, would you buy an audi now? To complicate things more, I was leaning towards the TDI

Yes.

LOVE our Q5 TDi, by the way!

I would, if you can get a great deal on it, which you should, given the circumstances, in order to offset any loss in future resale value.

Yes, without a doubt. Would still buy a TDI. But, by the time we're ready for a new Audi, this whole TDI issue will be old news.

YES.

I'm picking up a used Q5 TDI as soon as one pops up in my area, with the options I want. I LOVE that car.

The Q5 TDI luckily is not affected by the recall AFAIK

It's a gamble - first model year, produced in a brand new factory in Mexico. In theory, lots of screw-up opportunities. In practice - who knows?

I would definitely consider buying another Audi. My Q5 is ~1 year old, and my wife's Acura MDX is ~1 month old. We've been happy with both, but I have some buyer's remorse over the MDX already, whereas I have no regrets with the Q5.
