Just in case you needed yet another temptation to spend your hard-earned money, check out these. Installation requires a flat blade screwdriver and takes only a few minutes. The design includes 5W resistors so there's no bulb out warnings. For reference, the middle pic shows my 2007 RS7 with (noticably dark!) factory tungsten filament plate lights s on the right. At first I thought they might be too bright,. But one day later, I love them!

Looks good! Those are great photos also. I did the same mod to my rear license plate lighting...Big improvement.

$55 is a little steep, I bought a set from ebay for $30 with no bulb out error.

You got a set of Hoen digital lights? I know that the ones for the B8 are out, but the B7 lights are not yet available.

I prefer the look of the RS! Call me old fashioned but I think the back of a car should look like the back not a motorbike coming towards you!
Even when you are close enough to clearly see its just LEDS its still a distraction IMO.
While I'm here I might as well go the whole hog and admit I think it looks cheap too. Sorry

I hope you guys aren't paying more than $30 for a set of LED license plate bulbs.

Have mine for almost a year and no issues or codes.

MY12 should bring LED license plate lights from the factory. I am waiting for the OEM setup to retrofit my 2011 Q5.
