Also got the bars at delivery. Didn't expect them and since the back was full with luggage, I had to put them on the floor of the back seats during the whole trip. At dropoff, I decided not to install them for fear that they will be damaged during shipment. So I left them in the back, took a picture of them, and hope they show up when the car arrives at the dealer.
What do you plan to do with the bars at dropoff?

I certainly would not want to deal with the roof rack during my european road trip.
You would think that Audi would have a "valet coat check-in" function to hold your roof rack bars until you drop off the vehicle for shipment back to USA. When you surrender the vehicle for transport, you hand them the "coat check" ticket.

Bars just go in back...
The car came w/ them diagonally in the rear area, and I've seen them like that IIRC on U.S. cars at the dealer. I guess its just some odd supplier thing where they get put in here in Germany instead of at the port domestically.
Meanwhile, it's a total hassle on the trip. We have the left rear seat down, and can do it only because we have just three people. With four they would have to go on the roof, or get thrown out. I do see them on Ebay a lot, often for <$100; I'm guessing by people selling their cars or who want to try to get a bit of $ back.
