Default Episodes of wipers activating when adjusting R/V mirror

Has anyone noticed that when their stalk it set to rain sensing and the rear view mirror is adjusted the wipers are stimulated? Maybe activated is a better word.

tks
Dave

That happened in both the Q5s I've owned. Every little adjustment to the rearview mirror and bingo, the wipers turn on.

I'm going to have to give that try, maybe another way to clear the front window.

I have a Q7 in Ireland. On my car if we have prolonged misty damp cold period (not entirely unheard of here) the space between the sensor and the glass can fog up. It drives the sensor insane just like when a bug gets squished on it. Wipers build up to max speed and stay like that. The only solution is to run max demist for a while.
I dont recall any Q5 owners suffering this but it seems like a good thread to throw 2 cents in.

So is this a dealer fixable malfunction? or just a glitch in the application of this technology?

Did you have it addressed?

tks

Is it fair to assume you leave the wiper lever in the AUTO position, Dave?

Correct uberwgn. I have no issue just turning the stalk to off, the glitch when in the sensing position is....lust lame.

Lame along the lines of the ding dong that thought this format of Navi search was a good idea.

I'm fairly certain the sensing wiper feature can be turned off with VCDS if it bugs you. Some have done that.

We've had instances on my wife's A6 where it just goes wild after the wipers have been turned on for a while (

Just want to say: Love Ireland.
One of my favorite places I have traveled to.
