Default Diesel Q5 - Any new 'news' or speculation?

Obviously this has been rumored for years now (and with the refresh coming, I'm hopeful), but has anyone heard any new/promising info?

With the new Passat being released with the Diesel (30/40 mpg figures) and the Q5 Diesels across the pond averaging 35mpg or so US, I'm a bit jealous.

Thanks!
tgt

Audi has been saying that they're 2 years out for the Q5. Unfortunately, they've been saying that exact same thing for about 3 years now.

^ Exactly. I don't know if there's any truth to it, but my dealer told me to expect the hybrid at least a year before the diesel. Of course, he also said we would be seeing them for the 2012 model year.

*sigh* is right.... I truly believe that it is coming (I hope sooner than later, really hope we don't have to wait until the new model launches in 3-4 yrs for the Q5). VW seems to finally be starting the diesel push....

Any truth in the rumor that lack of space for the adblue tank is the problem?

Euro 6 emission will require DEF in a lot of vehicles. When that happens im sure we'll get more choices.

Def is quite a complicated system. you need an active and passive tank, one has to be heated, metering valves and all that stuff.

I think I've read that the UK delivered Q5 diesels have the adblue tank (haven't heard anything about the recently delivered Aussie ones).

I seriously doubt it. My Q5 TDI does not have AdBlue due to a lack of UBA diesel throughout Mexico, but my Spanish language manual that is used in several other Spanish speaking countries discuss AdBlue and has photos of the filler as well.

Also my English language manual (mostly for the UK) has the same information and photos.

Here's to hoping.... Again, hanging my hat on the fact that it may happen with the 'refresh'.
