Ah, I missed that when reading. When I did it the first time, I didn't do #3 and I see it but disabled (or greyed out). I do #3 and re-start and it works for me. Don't know why it doesn't work for you then.

Step One: Enable Ambiance Lighting.
[09 – Cent. Elect.]
[Coding - 07] -> Long Coding Helper -> Byte 16 Bit 6 - Set this bit manually to “1” - (1 = active)

This is the step that needs to be done with Vag com.

With Carista, turning footwell lighting front/rear "on" should essentially do the same thing but its not working.

Mine is a 2015..

I can not get the footwell among other items to work in my 2012.

Seems a bit odd that Carista has zero instruction anywhere. Nothing came with their adapter and certainly nothing on the website. The app is easy enough to use (yes or no), however if that isn't the only thing required to activate options then provide that information per each vehicle/model somewhere...

It does work for me. I don't need any vag com. Its 15 TDI by the way.

So once enabled what exactly does this allow you to do?

UPDATE::: Carista sent me an invite for the current Beta version of the iOS app, and voila, it works and allows the footwell lighting. Also able to turn on the cornering lights!

Cornering lights? Where should I be looking? I'm not finding that anywhere, in Carista or the AMI.
