Continental Cross Contact LX tires 19"
Pick up my new Q5 yesterday and would appreciate any comments about these tires. No problems with the new Q.

I had those tires on my last CUV, and they were decent. They went quite well through all of the snow we had in Philly last year, and handling was decent, as well as road noise.
I was surprised to find these installed on my Q5 3.2 Prestige when I picked it up not too long ago. It was my impression that the Qs came with Michelin or Goodyear tires. I also find it interesting that nowhere online can I find that Continental even makes these tires in this size, yet there they are on my Q5.

Welcome. You are the first to check in with them on the forum on 19". They are much more common on the Q7s. They seem to be a pretty good tire, work in most conditions, wear well its just ya dont get people raving about them.
Observations from the Q7 forum is that Conti users remain loyal more than other brands. Still on Q7 having driven many different setups I found the Conti to be a quiet comfortable rider in general compared to others though a little looser in the bends if really pushed.
Audi do bulk deals on tires so we will probably start to see loads of 19s arriving on them shortly! When they change manufacturer it is usually for the better.
checking on the Q5 spreadsheet I see more Northerly cars to date were on Michelin and Southerly or warmer climate cars on Goodyears.
If I had the choice out of those three I would pick the Conti's.

I did fail to mention, and Jusforfun's response made me feel I should, that I liked these tires so much on my previous CUV that when it came time to replace them, I replaced them with the same exact continental tire. My surprise at seeing these on my Q5 was not a bad surprise, just a surprise that they weren't what I had read people usually received their Qs wearing.

They are very good tires, I wish I had those instead of the Good Year. The Conti are better in the snow, they ride smoother, quieter, last longer than Good year. The only draw back might be handling.
