Buy 2012 2.0 or wait for 2013
Hi Friends,
Need your help in helping me decide.
I am in market for 2012/2013 Q5 2.0 with P+, navi, B&O, Advanced key. I can wait until oct...do you guys suggest me to wait for 2013 or just go ahead and buy a 2012.
The best deal i cud get for 2012 was 44,200 + taxes n 2013 was invoice + $900 + taxes.
Thank you for all ur help!

You are probably fortunate to even find a 2012 2.0T in your configuration of choice. I believe the dealer in my area is only receiving 3.2's now and that has been the case for at least a couple months.

I would say wait for 2013 if you can since there will be updates to the exterior, interior and MMI (bluetooth streaming, new software and map version).
In all, it depends on your budget and whether you can wait for it or want it now

I love my 2012 2.0T, but I would wait for the 2013 model year if I were in your shoes. I have the Nav and I get jealous looking at the screenshots of the new navigation system. I'd also have to grab the scuba blue if offered in the US.
The cinnamon brown interior will be phased out, so if that interior is a requirement of yours and you don't like the replacement chestnut color you'll have to get a 2012.
As long as you are waiting, you might as well get the 3.0T

Definitely wait for the 2013 if you can, for all of the reasons previously noted.
Personally, I'm taking it one step further and am holding out until 2014 when the SQ5 arrives in Canada with the next-generation MMI.
I was originally going to hold out for a 2013 3.0T, but since they're not coming here until Q1 of next year, I decided to just wait an additional 6 months for what will essentially be my "dream" Q5.

Sales person is pushing hard to sell 2012 which is in production queue and he is telling me that 2013 will not be available until beginning of 2013.
I think this is just their tactic to sell one of the cars from their lot.

I got ordered the 2012 myself. Don't want to wait till October, better rates, better discount, want to avoid the start-stop "feature". I do like the round 2013 steering wheel though. Not getting nav myself, but apparently it is only a small step up from the 2012 (allows audio streaming), unlike what someone has commented in this thread.

For me, since I can't get a 2012 the way I want it anymore, it will be the 2013.
Did anybody else see this on the front page info-splash about the 2013 Q5?
"One innovation in the 2.0 TFSI is the addition of indirect fuel injection. This supplements FSI direct gasoline injection under part-load conditions, improving fuel economy and reducing particulate emissions."
Sounds like some valve cleaning goodness has been incorporated, I like.
