Honestly, I can understand the reasoning behind closing the cars off to the public. Sure you have guys like us who are car enthusiasts and Audi owners who are respectful, but then you have Joe Blow and his kids climbing around an R8, maybe stealing the shift **** or prying off buttons.

At the very least, perhaps you could sign up for a private viewing through a dealer and they would have a guest list to check out the "super cars". I don't think it's realistic for everyone to sit in those sort of cars, especially pre-production vehicles.

Couldn't agree more Birdman. I've been to the Chicago auto show in particular more times than I can count -- going back to 5yr old with my Father when they still had the private Dealer/Mfg day. The amount of disrespect, damage, and theft from the open cars is disgusting.

If it can be pried, kicked, or twisted off, it won't be there after a day.

You beat me to this. I completely agree with you and Birdman. I'm sure that all car shows are pretty much the same. but after seeing this at the Chicago show, it's a wonder they leave ANY vehicle unlocked. I'm sure the mfgrs. know it's the price of doing business with their mainstream vehicles at these shows.

I was stunned at a recent RV show to see what some idjuts were doing to the coaches on display....

No wonder the sales girl was standing in the door of the $1.5 million dollar coaches 'filtering' guests

Guess my

was enough for the price of admission

I recall going as a young lad and nothing was taken or damaged on the cars and it helped sell more than one car to an older me

and, on edit, the nav surprised me the other day showing a RECENT extension to the 161 toll road here in DFW area
