Default Ate my metro card

I sat my metro transit card on top of the ashtray cover. The card then slid into the slot that the cover slides into when you open it. Does anyone know how I would get in there to retrieve it?

You don't really need the tool to remove the boot. It pops off easily with fingers. Just grab the edge of the boot and pull it toward the ****.

Haha, this post is hilarious (sorry). Reminds me one time when I threw my parking pass that I just paid for onto the dashboard of my truck. It slid between the windshield and the back of my dashboard, never to be seen again!

Yeah, at first I thought it couldn't have slid in there! It must have fallen on the floor. But I looked around and sure enough it got sucked into that slot.

It's a plastic re-loadable card. Fortunately I have a couple of these and there was probably less than $20 balance on that one. I hope the boot and ashtray are as easy to take apart and re-assemble as it looks here.

... otherwise you'll be spending more than $20 on a new trim piece! Just be careful when you take it apart. I've broken many retaining clips from trim pieces off the cheap Japanese cars I drove through HS and college.

I've lost 35 cents in there. A Quarter lost to the world, and a dime permanently caught under the sliding door. Still works tho.

Well, I was able to remove the boot, but then could not figure out how to remove the console (second figure below). It felt like if I pulled any harder on it, I was going to break something. So I think I will have the dealer do this when I take my car in for the heater issue noted in another post.

Thanks for these instructions.
