Personally, I am glad I went with the Nav system. The backup camera and park assist front and rear come in very handy. Also, you have to buy a vehicle today with resale in mind. You never know what the future holds and a nav car is more sellable at a higher price usually. You only go around once and deserve not to settle if you don't have to. Get the Nav and you won't regret your decision.

1. Am I making a mistake not getting the Nav. I don't care about navigation system (my Garmin is fine for whatever I have to use it) and backup camera, but will be missing newer MMI and MMI control will be different without the Nav package.
2. What do you guys think about MMI control, things like changing radio station when driving, climate control, turning on a CD player, etc. I know I can sit in one and have a look at this, but I'm looking for some input on how well it works, how convenient it is in every day driving.

1) nav package / mmi
As you and others have said, the nav is just one part of the option. As dumb as this sounds, I really missed my color screen between the tach and speedometer. The red looked cheap after getting used to the different colors. It also seemed to be a lower resolution.
I like having the extra SD card slot and the DVD player function
2) controls
I can navigate all of the controls without having to take my eyes off the road. I love having the controls on the center console instead of the dash.

Ditto
+1 Forester
Also had a loaner this past Wednesday. It was an MY11 3.2, without Nav, nor B&O. The function controller was mounted on the dashboard above the shifter, the display was the passe red LED. Glad I went with NAV and B&O. More reserve power than the 2.0T? Sure, but after the 37G1 tranny software update and adaptation, I'm very pleased with our 2.0T.

Thanks everybody for your help.
I think I might pull a trigger today on the way from work.
I will go with the Nav. So far my dealer was great to work with and trying to talk him into adding free nav updates, not sure how this will work out for me.
Getting pretty much Q5 2.0T PP+ with all the options available. 3.2 is out of my price range with all the options I want
Thanks again and if I pull the trigger you guys will probably see me here more often actually posting

offering nav updates is a no brainer since THERE ARE NONE AVAILABLE
Audi US gave me a case number for free nav updatees... but none to be had !
Consider the negotiation as fun...
just keep asking for stuff and expecting it...
even to the point of walking out when they don't give it to you !
what I got free with my 11 P+ 2.0T
audicare ($800)
mats ($240)
laminated window sticker nice little touch they do at DFW Audi
and 3k off list...
but that was offset by what I now consider a waste of $3k on the nav IMHO

Get the Nav
5-6 years ago Navi systems were a novel idea, aimed at technophiles, but now they are becoming pretty much the cost of entry — especially in luxury vehicles. You will be glad you got the Nav if you ever need to resell. Plus, as I understand it (haven't got my Q5 yet) the MMI really simplifies control of a number of functions, not just navigation.

Ok, one more question.
Have any of you guys heard about carbon built up problems with the 2.0T? Seems like 3.2 V6 is a victim of it, but haven't heard about 2.0T having any problems with it. Also seems like 3.0T coming to the US next year so far has been free of this problem.
