I'm running 265/40/21" as well and have 10mm spacers on order from ECS for the rear. When I looked at things, especially in the winter (slush, etc.), I didn't want to go out any further on the fronts.

So you don't need any spacers to run 265/40/21 ??

I've looked at many threads and some people say YES you need spacers to run 265/40/21 and some say NO you don't. I appreciate your help.

Strange...I have seen 1 or 2 people run spacers, but purely for aesthetics (not for clearance issues) to push the wheels out a bit more.

If you look at those pics above, I have 265's on both 21" stock S8 and SQ5 wheels, neither have required spacers. Hopefully that helps. I did a bunch of back and forth myself prior to going 265's, so I understand the research.

Good Luck!

I do have spacers because they were necessary for my winter setup with 19" OEM Q5 wheels, which without spacers would not clear the brakes on SQ. I will leave them on for the 21" wheels just aesthetics.

This has me wondering, how is the good weather performance of this tire compared to the stock summer only tires. While I don't mind a little loss in dry traction, I don't want to give up and handling by these tires being softer in the sidewalls.

Just put them on and love the ride. They're quieter and more comfortable than OEM Dunlops. Also like the slightly chunkier look of the 265.

Spacers aren't required to run this setup.

Default Scorpion Verde Update

Hi guys,

Sorry to bump the thread again, but I wanted to know how you feel the SQ5 with the Verde ?

And how does it feel 265 vs 255 in general with the stock 8.5 width 21" wheels ? Do the tires wear even ?

Thanks for the update.

I'm currently trying to sell the SQ5 because of a game change in our life (health$$$), but we loose too much, I'm in to reduce cost of ownership (tires and brakes).

My stock P Zero are almost done after 10k miles, maybe couples of k left. My 255-45-20 Winter scorpion are not better after 2 winters.
So I have winter to buy next autumn, and all season/summer for sring 2017 ($$$$).

And I know the brakes are getting used too, The back is cheap as it is same as regular Q5, but Front is oem only, as I don't find Zimmermann/OEM equivalent.

Cheers,
