I was in a car accident and I am waiting to hear back from insurance but I was wondering if my car looks totaled. Just want to know what to expect.

You are lucky that you weren't hurt. What did you hit, or who hit you? Did you slide under a tractor trailer/truck?

Maybe not. My neighbor had her chevy SUV rear ended right up to the back of her front seats. Bent frame and all. They fixed it so they say.

My '12 was totaled with a lot less damage than that.

looks pretty totaled, if it's not totaled by the insurance's first quote, I'm sure there will be many supplementals from the shop fixing it that will make it totaled.

we had our '14 vandalized, someone threw rocks at a bunch of cars, our sunroof was smashed, dents on the roof and fender, total damage ended up being over $8k.

I mean TBH unless someone on here is an assessor or works at a body shop, it's hard for the average Joe to just guess if it's going to be totaled. Age/mileage and damage that we can't see will play a huge part on if it might be totaled.

Decision to "total" is highly regional and depends on your insurance company.Sadly/or maybe gladly, my humble opinion is that that's a "total" Got to be > 25K What took out the big chunk of the A pillar cladding ?
