Motortrend: http://www.motortrend.com/oftheyear/...s/viewall.html

Great numbers:
Accel 0-60 mph 4.8 sec
Quarter mile 13.5 sec @ 102.2 mph
Braking 60-0 mph 104 ft

But they make a comment about the suspension being firm in Dynamic but softening up in Comfort that makes me shake my head and wonder if they really tested the car or just try and write like they did.

It's too bad that Audi couldn't have provided a couple other Q5 variations for the MT test.

I wonder what they were doing to get 13.8 mpg. That is a horrible number.

Didn't have time to watch the whole 47min Youtube video, so I skimmed through to find the SQ5 section:

EDIT: Video linking doesn't seem to be working properly.... Skip to the 11:19 mark to see the SQ5 discussion.

Default Ride too harsh?

It was disturbing that a number of the reviewers thought that the SQ5 ride was so firm and harsh that they wouldn't be able to live with it.

Is it really that bad?

It wasn't clear to me if they were talking about off-road ride quality only, or on paved roads as well.

My guess it, Audi did not pay them enough to have a "nice" ride. The winner will be some soccer mom car anyway. Besides, most of the soccer moms will probably say the ride is too firm on SQ5. They are comparing not really comparable cars in that review.

I find it quite similar to my 2012 Premium Plus S-line w/ 20" wheel. Maybe a tad firmer on the 21" inters... but really not much.

I guess I didn't see anything negative when they talked about the ride.

"Dynamic mode made for a pretty firm ride. However, when switched to Comfort mode, the SQ5 softened up nicely".

"Multiple judges commented that it was easy to forget you were driving and SUV on our drive loop".

Some people just can't handle any bumps in their ride apparently. Every car can't be a Toyota Lounge Chair 3.0T
