Yeah, that tends to happen starting somewhere around 80k with those EA888 Gen2 engines. You can ask the dealership to see if Audi will help at all, being right around 10 years service. Audi used to cover the cost of replacing the rings/pistons if it came to that. But that's all old news. No idea how that's being handled these days.

There's more than an encyclopedia's worth of info out there if you search on the B8 2.0T oil consumption issue. And probably some more lawsuit activity going on. Search the B8 A4, B8 A5, and B8 Q5 forums. Here and other sites.

Miles per quart is a good way to measure oil consumption. Time by itself only works if you are measuring leaking oil from a stopped engine.
At your 64K miles and 10 years old probably a good idea to change out your PCV to the latest OEM one and see if that helps your oil consumption if you haven't already done that. Has been known to resolve the issue for some.
My 2011 2.0T Q5 used about 1/4 quart at the 5K oil change mark at 93K miles when I sold it. Not all use oil, but many do.

Sometimes, Audi knows that certain models and years of their cars use too much oil. They might offer special warranties or repair programs for these problems, even though they're not official recalls. These offers might not be widely known, so the best thing to do is call an Audi dealership and ask about your car's VIN to see if there's any help available for your situation.

I have the same car with 125K+ miles and it burns some oil but nothing at all to be concerned with. As others mentioned, quantify and track your consumption if you need to get an idea of how much it consumes. This engine uses low tension rings that are the same used in other engines. The best advice is to change your oil frequently and to do so using a high quality oil. Some oil consumption is no cause for concern so long as it is not accelerating.

Work with an Audi dealer. Audi is going to make you perform a dealer oil consumption test that you will need to pay for if you want Audi to step in and pay some cash for the repairs

I thought that I just received in the mail some law firm starting another class action lawsuit for excessive oil consumption and I have a 2014 that burns very little if none, but I now only drive that Q5
less than 1500 miles a year.

And how much approximately do you need to pay for this test?

I had the same issue of oil consumtion and the problem was the AOS (air to oil separator). I fixed it at the dealership and also went ahead and took care of the Mechatronic because it was having some issues (it would rev while at a redlight to 1500rpms and gear changes were clunky). There was a recall i think for the AOS or the Mechatronic but the dealership took notice of the recall and only said we should pay "labor"; but they came out with an almost $5k bill and that was the last time we took it to the dealership.

The AOS is called a PCV on this engine. You don't need a dealer to change it because it takes only 15 minutes and some basic tools. Depending on which MY you have, yes there did increase the crankcase vacuum which requires a new PCV since it regulates crankcase vacuum just like a AOS.

I think it depends on how experienced you are with cars. When I got my first car, I was afraid to touch anything there. Gladly, my dad did it for me and taught me some basic things. But there are people who trust more mechanics than themselves.
