2013 Q5 2.0t Oil Consumption
I'm looking at buying a Q5 2.0T and I've seen many threads on high oil consumption. Audi Service tells me that this is no longer an issue with the 2013 models. Is that true.

Assuming your premise is correct, I don't think the 2013's been out long enough for this to be answered?

I guess the word is that the oil burning issue was fixed in the '12 model year - I guess my Q hasn't heard that word cause it burns oil - about 1/2 quart every 2,000 miles. Apparently Audi says that's normal or that this amount doesn't constitute oil burning? And just to pre-empt one of the folks here who likes to blame poor break-in - I followed manufacturers recommendations in that regard and after the break-in I take it out at least once a week and drive it robustly (some 3/4 throttle acceleration as I find that full throttle upshifts are a lot slower near redline than if the throttle is backed off just a little). I bought the dipstick as well though I find that the MMI is pretty accurate on mine.

Our Experience
We have an MY11 2.0T and just had 15k service. Changed oil at 5.6k in coordination with rear camera install. Checked oil with display only, per instructions after every fill up (roughly 330 to 370 miles per cycle). So at about 14.7k go from 2 bars on display at last fill up to no bars (down 1 qt), but no yellow advisory (still "OK to drive") for another 350 or so miles until weekend before 15k service appointment when yellow advisory comes on. Only drove another 13 miles before service. SM says no problem. One qt per 10k miles is no problem, one qt per 2k miles is a problem.
I will probably seek top off prior to that during the next cycle, or possibly change much sooner. The Q is running well, yes, sometimes there is the "downhill creeping in traffic tranny hunting syndrome", but otherwise OK.
