2013 pricing

i live in st. louis, and we have 2 audi dealerships within 15 miles of each other. the one i bought my car from (bommarito)is further away from my house and work, but gave me the best deal.
since i bought it, i have been getting it serviced at the other dealership (plaza) because it is closer to home and 2 miles from my office. there has been no animosity at all - they are just happy to have my business for servicing. they even happily removed the bommarito decal on my liftgate for free.
i'd give the dealerships more credit... they know it's a competitive business, and they shouldn't hold grudges.

My understanding is that these deposits are always refundable (at least in CA - might differ from state to state). Business is business - if they want yours have them match or at least get close, otherwise ask for your deposit back.

I would think the paperwork would have to say non refundable deposit for them to keep it. Did you put it on a credit card? If so you can have the credit card company fight it if they dont return it.

Ask them where it says in writing that the deposit is non refundable.
I would also threaten very bad press on the internet for their dealership on this site, on dealerraters.com, on edmunds forums, on KBB ......
I would also ask to speak to the owner. Not only are they going to get a lot of bad press but lose your future business and all the maintanence revenue on the vehicle. It's a bad business decision.
