Nice hijack!

I am now at the 1,000 mile mark and am experiencing what I believe to be some tough mileage, at least against what I see others reporting here. City-only driving is ranging regularly (according to the computer) between 12 to 15 mpg. I think that is rather atrocious, and while I am not the gentlest of drivers could that really bash the numbers so much? Conversely, highway is easily achieving 30 - 31 mpg range, which seems just dandy.

At what point does mileage indicate a mechanical problem that needs to be addressed? Where's that line?

I guess by "authorized dealer" they mean someone who is "authorized" to pull the ECU out of your car and call a courier. A bit absurd, but that's what I have been hearing.

What pricing have you been given?

retail only, but I've not 'negotiated' at all yet ... he will give me a loaner during the upgrade which is worth 'some' $'s

in the case of STC tuners for my diesels - $400 to 500 and I had 140 more HP and 250 lbft of torque so $1400+ for 50 hp is hard to swallow, but it IS warranted thru the audi dealer that does it.

there are two or three authorized dealers in the DFW area...

I would wait and see until after the 5k mile mark.

My computer tallies the mpg at almost 4 mpg higher than the actual mileage when I calculate. Can the computer system be re-calibrated to be more accurate?

There's the possibility of corrections spending fuel

Default FWIW

Just hit 1k miles this week with our 2.0t.

So far display shows cumulative mpg of 20.4, briefly touching 20.6 mpg. Third tank of gas, I calculated about 1 mpg lower than the 20.4value shown. I've been doing mostly moderate to stop and go driving. I've also briefly touched 4k rpm on an accelearation stint, and a couple of times running up to the speed warning I set at 78 mph on open roads. Highest instantaneous displays have been about 28 to 29 mpg, with highest trip at about 25 mpg.

Oil consumption is normal so far, based on MMI display.

Knock on Southern Yellow Pine, we're running nicely.

No way. The 2.0T is awesome.

I'm getting around 24.5 mpg mixed driving and the last 2 trips I've taken (with no racks etc on the car), I was getting a calculated 26.5 mpg on the interstate.

There is no question the 2.0T is fine on the interstate. No need for the bigger engine. I was pulling 90+ just yesterday zipping around a semi-truck to get out of a jam with traffic boxing me in. Never even flinched. And I've been driving up & down mountains of WV, VA, TN, NC.

If it'll go here, it'll go anywhere you want it to.
