I've got a '12 2.0T prem plus with 11,500 miles on it already after 7 months it's my DD and I commute ~85 miles round trip every day. I'm averaging 23.2MPG via the car computer.

I love my 3.2 and so far no issues. It is def personal preference. Now if they did have the 2.0T with the sline trim then I prob would of went after it due to the mods/upgrads you can do to it. The sline trim makes the car look nicer and aggresive than the non-sline.

The 2.0T has received better substantially BETTER reliability ratings from Consumer Reports than the 6 cylinder and every online resource that I've been able to gather. This is not surprising since the 2.0T has been refined over years and years and years. It's a solid engine.
On other notes, the 2.0T is smooth and quiet (unlike other 4 cylinders like Acura RSX, etc) and compares in this regard to good 6 cylinder cars I've had in the past.
And to top it off, you can easily get a mod that will give you all the extra power ....if you have that lead foot itch you need to scratch. MPG is also much better and every mag I've read on the subject says the 2.0T is the way to go for this car. Independently, I agree completely.
BTW, IF you tow a lot of stuff or load your car with heavy things, go with the Toureg Diesel. The Q5 (either flavor) would not be the right car for such activities and you'd be much better served with the Touareg D in this regard.

Well I went with the 3.2 due to more availability with the Nav option. At the end of the day MPG wasn't a significant factor just wanted to get the Q for the wife and she wouldn't consider w/o NAV. Got the Prestige + in Pearl Black. Traded a MB 350 4matic. Hated the vehicle- to high of the ground & felt like it would roll over even on slow turn -pretty bland inside also with sh*t MPG. And service cost was BS and dealer is moving out of area - Audi right down the road. Pick up on Monday after coming from Houston. Wish it wasn't black as I am the one washing it LOL

I was in the 3.2 camp but knowing what I know now about carbon buildup (having to pull the motor and subframe for maintenance around 40,000 miles), I would never buy another 3.2. I'm currently in a 2.0T Q5 loaner (3rd time). My thoughts haven't changed: Love the 8spd tranny, power seems almost identical to the 3.2 except for that annoying turbo lag. Fuel mileage is the same. The 2.0T also idles a bit ragged and econo-car-like compared to the smoothness of the V6 3.2. The surprising thing to me is that the 2.0T actually sounds pretty good under WOT. Until the Q5 TDI becomes readily available in NA, I think the 2.0T is the way to go.
