Default anyone had a bonnet bra fitted

I'm looking at options that will protect the front of my SQ5 from stone chips and the ones that stand out the most would be on the bonnet. I have looked at and this week applied the 3M product but im not totally satisfied with it. there are a few imperfections around the deeper curves in the front bumper and ive heard it will stain over time with bugs etc. Anyway I found this bonnet bra on ebay and wondered if anyone is using something similar and their experience with it.

Cheers

Wow, haven't seen one of those on a car since my high-school days in the late 80's (had one on my Escort GT for < 1 week )...I'm thinking there's probably a reason I haven't seen one on a car in the last 2 decades.

I understand you want to protect your paint, but I'm struggling to follow your logic. You don't like the look of the 3M protection, but you're willing to put this on your car??? (BTW, did you use the adhesive film or spray-on 3M protection?) In addition to the aesthetics and potential for ridicule, these bras have been known to rub and damage the paint anyway. My advice: have the clear film professionally installed. If it starts to look bad in two or three years, have it redone. I have 22,000 miles on my BMW's film, and it still looks great. I just wish I had put it on my wife's Q5. Live and learn ...

So true, but then again I haven't seen a perky set of headlights since then either.

2nd - those bras do rub on the paint. I have never done a clear bra on any of my cars and never needed one but after one year on the Q5 I could see enough nicks that I had it done and I am sorry I waited so long
