I never thought about getting off the base. I only thought about replacing the SQ5 emblem with other kind of emblem that make sense to my car, but getting rid of the complete base is a good idea.

Thanks!!

I like your suggestion too.

The base behind the emblem is gray, so maybe painting it in black would hide it and make it kind of "invisible"

Thanks!!

Cuting off the S part would look good if you can pull it off.

On a side note, where did you get the silver caps and how much were they? Looking to get black optics sq5, but like the silver mirror caps.
Yes, that thought crossed my mind last week, that is why I decided to put original emblem back after trying other options and I feel satisfied. But then the posing thought is present again and I really do not want to make pass my Q5 as something that it isn´t.

I will leave the SQ5 emblem for a while, in the meantime I will think about the options and also listen to your valuable inputs and suggestions.

Regarding the silver caps, I got them from eBay. I have a trusted seller based in Florida that provides me with genuine OEM Audi parts. If you want to search for him, here is his eBay id: get-store. This caps are genuine OEM Audi made in Germany, the price including shipping from Germany was 600 usd., not cheap but I rather pay a little more with this trusted eBay seller than taking risks buying on the internet. Also, so far I believe there is no aftermarket silver caps for the Q.

Hope the info is helpful.

Cheers!!

I did the same conversion this past weekend but with the black optics grille. I really wanted to put the "Supercharged" emblem in that space but it was about 1/2" too long so I settled with the "S Line" emblem instead.

Looks really good!

I´ll give it a try. I only will need to paint the emblem base in flat black in order to make it less noticeable, since my grille is grey.

Thanks for the pic!! It helps a lot!

Thanks for your help
