It depends on you
For 2.0 factory set of winter tires are 17"

Ok, that's fine with me. I was concerned because of talk of rotor clearance.

Rotor clearance is only a issue on the SQ5

I just ordered a winter set on Tirerack - 255/50R-19. It looks like they are coming with Retaining clip for AL-P rings, Required lugbolt for vehicle, Required centering ring.
Is that all good or do I need something else?

Default 20" Hartmann + Blizzaks

I've had my 20" Hartmann rims with Blizzak LM-60 since Dec and they've performed well. Really happy with the combo. The rims look great too! I almost like them more than my stock 21".

I purchased mine from Hartmann's Canadian distributor, RPI Equipped. Easy and pro guys to deal with.

Not necessarily true. Only a few 17" wheels will fit on the 3.0T/TDI. Most should fit on the 2.0.

Hartmann says that the SQ5 and Q5 are the only ones different than the rest of the Audi line and their wheel cannot use the stock lug!
