Default PowerService Diesel Kleen

I decided to use this additive, since Shell, Sunoco both have Cetane numbers of 40. From everything I have read, EU diesel has Cetane values around 50. Added 16 oz to a full tank...I had a tapered funnel that I tried to use today, but it had a diameter that would not open the the flap in the filler nozzle. It was too narrow. I cut the top of the nozzle off to what I thought was the right diameter... Cut it too far up the neck, but it still opened the trap door in the filler neck. I found an adapter on Amazon that sounds like it will solve the problem. It cost $12 to solve this frustrating situation.. Has anyone been thru this same situation? Anyone tried this adapter?

I bought the adapter and it goes in the tank filler just fine. However, Ive not tried Diesel Kleen.... so Im very interested in how it works for you. Please keep us informed.

Nozzle Nozzle

16 ounces seems to be a lot of additive. From what I could gleen from the labels from the online pics.. 32 oz per 50 gallons was the max rate recommended. Perhaps that isnt the latest info though.

From the Safety Service website:

Add entire contents (16 ounces) to 40 gallons of diesel fuel. For maximum cetane boost and quicker fuel injector clean-ups, add entire contents (16 ounces) to 20 gallons of diesel fuel.

Default 26.5 mpg

This was the mpg from my last tank without Power Service additive. Will let you know what the next one yields... I hope to see at least 2 mpg increase, but the temperature is predicted to be higher, so that will have an effect as well... We'll see...

Here is a snap from their website... The numbers I had were relative to the 32 ounce bottle... Perhaps they are different concentations?? Or somebody at Power Service is math challenged?

16-OUNCE (PART NO. 3016)
Add entire contents (16 ounces) to 40 gallons of diesel fuel. For maximum cetane boost and quicker fuel injector clean-ups, add entire contents (16 ounces) to 20 gallons of diesel fuel.
32-OUNCE (PART NO. 3025)
Add entire contents (32 ounces) to 100 gallons of diesel fuel. For maximum cetane boost and quicker fuel injector clean-ups, add entire contents (32 ounces) to 50 gallons of diesel fuel.

Interesting... I will call them and ask, then update with a post... Although if you add 32 oz to 50 gallons, that is pretty much the same as adding 16oz to 20 gallons (25)...do you agree?

16 oz to 20 gallons vs 16 oz to 25 gallons is a pretty significant difference if the two bottles contain the same concentrations... 5 gallon difference is 20% of 25 or 25% of 20.
