Q5 vs MB ML350 4matic
The wife likes SUV's (I have a TT) . Yesterday traded in the MB for a '12 Q5 3.2 Premium. So here are my observations.
MB was taller and always felt top heavy especially in turns, Q5 is definately more agile. The '09 MB was $4k more, although fewer creature comforts, like auto dimming, memory seats, no leather, no Xenon, more difficult to use personal settings & less of them. MB seldom got over 19 MPG with the 3.6 V6 in average driving. MB made in Alabama. Don't know about you folks but when I buy a European car I expect it to be made in Europe! On the light side the MB had no warranty issues whatsoever (TT hasn't either). MB's Harmon stereo was great vs Q5 standard Nav w/MMI is pretty good. Q5 takes up less space in garage! Wife got the Black pearl which isn't a plus as I am the b*stard that has to wash it constantly LOL. I've had lots of Audi's (A8, A4, 100CS) and had good results with them and their dealers, hope I haven't jinks this one.

We also moved from an ML350 ('08). The one plus the MB had was it was quieter on the road. The MB's NAV was a pain with the pogo stick control. The Q5 **** is a little better, but our previous Escalade and current R-Rover has touchscreen. Nothing beats a touchscreen for direct action.
We had the MB Prem 1 Package, which did leave a bit to be desired, but it was a lease deal for $599mo. Do enjoy the driving experience more with the Q.
We move from brand to brand in every lease. Not sure what's next. Still have a year and a half to choose. Wife likes the looks of the new R-Rover Evoque, but I don't think the design is that practical. Maybe an X3 or X5.

Congrats on the car purchase. You really have to pay attention to where a model is built. Just a matter of time before Audis are built in NA as well. http://i.autoblog.com/2012/01/16/aud...ely-in-mexico/
Be happy it wasn't built in India
