One thing to keep in mind is that you might, in addition to the collapsible spare itself, need any of the mounting hardware that is used to hold the spare against the floor of the storage area. Since they removed the option of the spare, it's possible that you may not have the hardware to attach the spare in your vehicle. I'm not sure, though, as I don't know what they have or don't have in vehicles that don't opt for the collapsible spare even where available. (Here in the US it's standard so we can't opt out.) You'll certainly need to remember to get the compressor unit, as well, to fill up the spare.
Hopefully you're able to locate a spare and mount it at a relatively reasonable cost when your 2015 comes in. I wouldn't trust a can of gel, and as you say if you get a puncture in a bad spot then the can won't work at all. Much prefer full-size spares, but it's rare that there's room in vehicles anymore so compact or collapsible is at least better than needing run-flats or a can of goo.

Yes ,
You're right idale. Probably safer to wait till I get delivery of the car and then see what space there is and if there is actually a place to anchor the wheel in.
I just hate relying on the gel. Call me old fashioned , but just like the comfort of having A real spare
