good news today. the order bank shows our car with build week 7 and estimated arrival at dealership in March. i hope so. :-) we're anxiously awaiting email updates from Audi Owner In Waiting.

Delivered! The Q5 arrived in the Port of Houston on Decemerb 26th, released to the trucking company on December 27th, and arrived at the Seattle dealer on January 8th. We picked it up and drove it home today as the Seahawks were beating the Saints. Overall timeline: 2 months from the day of the deposit to delivery. Great day!

For those of you on the West Coast expecting your new Q5 this month, the Dionysos Leader just passed through the Panama Canal this afternoon. ETA in San Diego is 2/12.
Here is a time lapse of the ship passing through the Miraflores Locks. Notice the small private boat in front. Must have been rather imposing being below the RoRo.

Ok, just for members info. Negotiated the price with dealer around 11/10, order actually placed 11/18, yet to hear from the dealer anything. I am in Chicago and will post updates about this order. Again, for members info, I am leasing a Q5 and will have to extend the lease. Beware that there are a few things need be done if you are in the same position, such as contacting Audi and let them know, schedule the inspection, etc.
Ok, here is my update. I did not hear ANYTHING from anybody until 2/24/14. I was promised to be put on somebody's e-mail list (from the dealership)and that I would get 3 updates. Well, I did not get anything
. The call on 2/24 - yeeeei, my car had just arrived. Picking up later on this week. So, sending updates is apparently it's dealer dependent. On a separate note, I did not know about a discount that can be obtained via Audi Club of NA, but, the caveat here - you have to be >6 months into your membership with the club to be eligible, not a day less

A Few More Hours
I'm picking up my first Audi, an SQ5, in a few hours. I ordered it on November 27 and I'll be getting it today, February 27. Will take pics and post pics and impressions in a week or so.
