We love our Q5 but the ride is a little stiff (combined with somewhat hard seats) on city streets. I wonder if drive select on Q5 would allow the suspension be made softer the standard Q5's suspension

Simpler fix would just be to go down an inch on wheel size. For example if you have 19's, try 18's. Lots of OE 18's around at decent pricing from others who want to go the other way.

Also, take a look at your tire pressure (when cold). In the manual there are numbers for normal and max load, I personally found a significant difference in comfort between the 2 numbers. Moreover, when I got the car from the dealer the tires were way overinflated.

If you have recently received your Q5, make sure that the tires were adjusted to factory. Our tire pressure was at 40 psi.

If you have the ADS system, changing to comfort will definitely make a difference (better) in the ride, even with 20" wheels.

I keep the pressure at 30 psi all around to keep the ride tolerable.

I am thinking about it, but maybe 2015 model which is going to be Drive select+sports interior in one package.
After re-reading the post on reliability of 2010 3.2 Q5 I am inclined to keep ours for a little longer...
