For those of you that do your own brakes, there's a product called CRC Brake Quiet that will probably stop the cold squeaks:

Amazon.com: CRC Disc Brake Quiet 05016, 4 Fl Oz: Automotive Amazon.com: CRC Disc Brake Quiet 05016, 4 Fl Oz: Automotive

I've used it for years. It's a shame the dealerships don't use it in these cases.

Yes, it squeaks when cold out. It also happens on my previous A4.

just to bring this thread back to life for others who have brake squeaks. My Q5 was serviced yesterday. They lubed the pistons and loosen the tension on the brakes. not sure how but I will scan the detail sheet tomorrow.

My Q has 21000 miles and its brakes squeal like crazy at every slow speed stop. Its been doing it for at least 4 months. My local dealer (Which is awful, BTW but only 1/4 mile away) told me that they wouldn't clean/adjust them under warranty nor Audi care and that it wouldn't be worth my money because it will just happen again ( I can't stand them).

Mine only started squealing after 1.5 years and 20,000 miles. It's been squealing when cold out for the past 7,000 miles, but only occassionally.

I was expecting my SQ5's brakes to squeak when temps started dropping, but so far, and unlike my previous S4, it has not squeaked once, no even in double digit negative temps we've had here the past few days.

mine started at 15k. I brought It up to them and they said its just a "fine" abrasive on the pads that needs to be rubbed off. so I kept driving it. it stops squeaking after it warms up. and finally when it hit 20k it kept on squeaking and when I sent them a message for a price quote on the brake pads. that email was forward to the guy whom I dealt with ever since I got my car. He has been great so he decided to allow me to bring my car in and have the techs drive my car. Now the tech believes me that the brakes were having issues not by wear and tear. But I will scan a copy of the service receipt for you guys to take to the dealers.

SQ5 have brembo kits don't they? I don't think brembo kits would squeak because of their fine quality build. that's what I think.

2013+ Q5 have Brembo kits installed just not as fancy as the SQ5 lol

I have ~12K on my Q5 3.0T. The brakes have been squeaking for quite some time, but they're very loud now that it's colder out. It's embarrassing - they are that loud.

They don't do it every time - but often under slow speed and light breaking.

I took it in to the dealer and they couldn't reproduce it, and essentially did nothing to the car. So, I'm going to drop by when it's doing it.

Will update the thread with any new developments - but this is the worse I've ever had in terms of brake squeal.
