Default Warranty and Audi Care - What do I get??

I am looking at a 2014 Q5 from a non Audi dealer.

I still am a bit confused over reading the New Car Warranty and Audi Care.

This vehicle has Audi Care apparently and its in service date was December 2013.

Is there a full bumper to bumper warranty for 12 months? After that it is limited?

The first service at 8,000kms is free?

What exactly does Audi Care add to this over the 4 year warranty?

Thank you!!

The car probably still has the limited factory warranty which covers most defects for 4 years or 80k km, whichever comes first. Like any new car warranty, there are exclusions for wearable items like tires, wiper blades, cosmetics, etc.

Audi Care (Canada), is a prepaid maintenance program (it's not a warranty) that takes effect after the free first service and follows the manual's scheduled maintenance intervals at 25,000 km, 40,000 km, 55,000 km, and 70,000 km, or 5 years from the original vehicle in-service date, whichever comes first.

Check with an Audi dealer to determine if the warranty and Audi Care coverage of this particular vehicle are transferable to another owner purchasing the car. They might also have the service history on it if you provide the VIN. You should have the car examined carefully - it's unusual that someone would sell or trade a new car after only three months. I'm sure there's a story here.

I'd agree with snagit, but suggest calling Audi "of Canada" directly rather than just the dealer, to get the warranty information. Which should also be online.

Things may be different in the Great White North but in the US, AudiCare is about $800 and mainly covers your brake fluid changes (worth about $100 and done very two years) and then a lot of "inspecting" on the car. Whether it has any value to you, depends on how you drive and how long you keep the car.

Usually the first service is done at 5000 miles or one year, whichever comes first, so I'm guessing someone put 6-8,000 miles on the car? And then for some reason got rid of it. Do check to see if that was because of an accident or service problems, just in case.
