Default Drive Your Dream Super Car At NCCAR March 27-30th

Hey Audiworld. You may have heard of, or even been to a Super car Test drive Race day, but we at Adventure Supercars are different. We are true, forum loving, car modifying, spending every last dime on the next cool thing for our cars, CAR guys.

Adventure Supercars (adventuresupercars.com) was started by car guys for car guys. We basically asked ourselves what would be the absolute best experience at a track we could offer with a cool collection of cars, and made it happen! We are just a bunch of car guys at heart; we love to be around other car people and just chat cars. Our supercar program brings this love to the racetrack with some of the worlds best cars on some of the best racetracks we could book!

We put a lot of time and effort to have not only the largest traveling supercar collection in the US, but also the best! We also added our car modifying passion into our fleet to make the cars as fun and thrilling as possible! There is no where else to experience a supercar Adventure as diverse as this! We partnered with the best in the business to make sure that the cars are as well prepped as possible. We choose our fleet carefully, as seen in our special edition choice Lamborghini's that you will not be able to drive anywhere else!

We prepare our cars for the racetrack. All cars run race-spec brake fluid, full race compound brake pads and rotors, race-spec alignment and corner balance, and semi racing tires. We want to make sure that the cars are not only as safe as possible for racing, but they are prepped to perform as best as possible! The cars to choose from:

I was considering attending this (and may still) as I've seen your advertisements elsewhere recently (http://www.groupon.com/deals/adventure-supercars). Can you tell me if you use the tracks exactly as they are, or if you set up cones or similar to create esses or chicanes to reduce speed? You have a very nice selection of tracks, but what I hear from most that have done these types of events before is that they are watered down for the average Joe by creating such changes to the track. For people like me who have done many HPDE track days, it may be a disappointment. Please let me know your comments. If it's not for me, that's fine, I just want to set realistic expectations.

Here are some comments from friends about such other experiences after I posted about potentially attending this upcoming event:

"I would pass because your S4 was probably faster than any of those cars...when you drive them according to the rules and restrictions the company imposes (such as rev limits, adding "bonus chicanes," etc)."

"true. I'd guess anyone who's done a propour track day might be disappointed."

"Um, be aware that the definition of a "track" is very liberal in some of these things. I've seen a parking lot with cones described as a "track". Max sprint speeds of 60 mph. That said, It looks like they are using legit tracks."

"the 430 plowed like a freight train - front tires (OE) are 225s, where over worked, car had no front camber so the only way to get it to turn was to break the rear end lose - I know i guy who use to track one and it can be set up to be a beast but it requires massive suspension geometry changes, sways, way higher spring rates, and running a 265 front tire... so that is why i say do the GTR - modern car, cheapest and it will turn "

"The other thing that truly pissed me off was this was a a small track i had never been to so i studied the track map and did videos for half a day to learn the track - got there and they had placed pylons in sections to change the line, slow the car down, etc, etc - this of course made total sense as they are protecting the car from 1st timers but it basically ruined the day"

Hi Mark,

Those are actually great questions!

First thing to note is that we do not have "limiters" of any kind on any of our cars. We use race pads, race fluids, and new fresh rubber, semi street/race compound tires. We are cars guys and we want the cars to driven to their potential. We do not cut corners on our cars. Hancook RS3 tires on some cars, Toyo R888 on some cars, and Bridgestone S04 and S001 on some cars. Strictly good rubber and aggressive pads.

We run the full course of the tracks we run. No hidden corners/turnoffs. This is not a parking lot experience. We run the full racetrack!

Our program is a lead-follow type event. However, the car you will be following is a Race prepped E92 BMW M3 driven by a professional instructor. If you can keep up with the M3 you are going FAST. There is no 60mph speed limit here. The cars will easily hit 130mph if you drive well and most importantly, listen to the instructor. Our main goal is safety and if the instructor feels that you are talented, we will let you have a very good time When you come to the event let us know you have track experience and we will place you at the front of the pack.

We of course have a lot of first time drivers, but we want to be able to cater to all kinds of drivers. If you have track experience and can demonstrate it to the instructor in the car with you, he will let you drive the car very quickly.

When you get to the event let us know. We love other car guys and will take care of you for sure

Thanks!!

Thanks for the timely and thorough feedback. This does indeed sound encouraging.

Can you provide any comment on your insurance? That seems like the "hidden cost" (could alone be more than the cost of the event) that some may overlook:

http://adventuresupercars.com/pages-2/faq/
  • At Adventure supercars your personal or auto insurance does not cover your drive.
  • You will be required to purchase an insurance package on the day of your drive.
  • One of the following packages must be purchased. You will be responsible for any damage to the car above the insurance amount.
    • $39 covers $50,000 of damages to the vehicle, $10,000 deductible
    • $69 covers $150,000 of damage to the vehicle, $5,000 deductible
    • $129 covers $300,000 of damage to the vehicle, $1,000 deductible
My insurance has stated they cover me in my car at the track for HPDE events. Your site seems pretty direct that my insurance will not cover me for this event. Do you know if that's because I am in your car? Have you found any exceptions to this?

Also, I was considering the Lamborghini LP560, but just noticed it looks like the only car in your fleet that you didn't mention anything about. Comments on it?

I just realized you mentioned an LP570, yet that's not listed on your reservation page for this event. Did you get a 570 to replace the 560? Did someone total the 560?
