New Engine in Q5?
I just took my 2013 Q5 to the dealership because I added a quart of oilin the first week of December and then my oil light came on again in the nextweek. They checked for a leak and then came back and told me a needed a newengine because of a hair line crack on the engine block. I just had it servicedin September and everything is fine. I have 99k miles. This can’t be normal isanyone having a similar problem. Not sure what to do new engine, used engine, remanufactured engine?

Kim, firstly, welcome aboard! Are you the original owner of this Q5? Has it been naughty or nice during your time with it?
Is the dealer able to offer any kind of support? I think you may need to get a 2nd opinion on the "cracked block". Assuming you have a 4 cylinder, they're known oil burners and there has been a class action suit.

Yes I am the original owner and it's has some other repair items, water pump, air conditioning unit issue bit it ran like a charm. Did not see this coming I have taken it to the dealer for 8 oil changes. I read the class action news but I don't see anything about 2013 Q5,s.

Did they explain to you how this hairline crack is consuming oil, and show you the hairline crack? This just sounds suspicious to me, can you have another dealer look at it to confirm that there is indeed a hairline crack and that it is the cause of oil consumption?
If there is indeed a hairline crack I would open a case with Audi headquarters directly, bypassing the dealer, and push the fact that if there is a hairline crack that this was a major factory defect in the works over time. Did your water pump fail and the engine over heated?
There are many other reasons for an instantaneous oil consumption; bad PCV valve diaphragm, bad head or intake gasket, etc.
