Advise for Wheel/Tire Replacement
Have 2011 Q5 2.0 PP with 19" wheels. Few months back, I got hydroplaned and hit the curb and both my right wheels have remarkable scratches. Got wheel alignment done at the dealer and dealer offered $50/wheel repair (basically scrap off the metal on all 4 wheels) which I didn't consider.
So, I recently hit 30K mile mark and my tires are pretty much ready for replacement. I was thinking of ordering both wheels and tires from TiresRack and one of my friend told me that they will do the wheel/tire setup and ship.
I would like to see what you experts suggest for me to replace the wheels and tires. Cost is definitely a factor but would like to go with the best.
Cheers and thank for all your help!

You will see a lot of opinions regarding the best with wheel only prices ranging from about $1000 to $4000 for a set of 4. Wheel and tire replacement and upgrade can really be an enormous undertaking with so many options for size, fitment, color, design, performance level, etc. If you have the ability to install a set of wheels with mounted/balanced tires on your own, Tire Rack is a great option. They can also set you up with approved installers that will charge about $100 to put them on. If you have a good tire shop near you such as Discount Tire (good in my opinion), you could order separate wheels and the tire shop can order in any tire.
I would look at 19 or 20" wheels and check out VMR, Hartmann, Avant Garde for less expense, and BBS, OZ, Vossen, Forgestar for some pricier options. I think the best wheel spec for an average Q5 user is 20x8.5, offset ET25.
Tires are more important and more specific to your driving habits, environment, and uses of the vehicle. 255/45/20 fits the wheel spec I mentioned above. I like the new(ish) offerings from Michelin in the Pilot Sport A/S 3 and Pilot Super Sport, but those aren't a perfect match for everyone.

I haven't purchased them yet, but will probably try these (Parada Spec-X) within the next year or so: http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....r=Premium+Plus

I'm running the Yoko Spec-X in a 20 size. So far, they've been great. For the price, they can't be beat! If you're going to get them within the next yr, I'd suggest you order them from discount tires when they have their annual $100 off 4 tires Black Friday sale.

Separately, anyone here running these: http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....r=Premium+Plus
They rate a bit higher than the Spec-X (but appear to be somewhat new so not nearly as many reviews as the Spec-X).

Thanks. I'll keep my eyes open for that sale.

Thanks for the responses. Just to start off, did any of you replaced the wheel/tire at the same time? Can you share with what you went with.
Thanks!
Thanks!

If looking at tires and living in a 'snowy' environment and not wanting to do changeovers, you have Nokian WR G3 SUV. None better. Check it.
