2013 Q5 orders - tracking thread
Since a few of us here have placed 2013 orders, it's a good time for us to have a thread with tracking updates. Please post the latest status of your order (production weeks, ETAs etc) as you get more information. Please post your country of residence if it's not mentioned in your profile to avoid confusion.
All other fields are blank or missing.
What are the dates looking like for you guys, and have you got any updates lately?
- 2013 Q5 2.0T (US)
- Order Status:Factory Order Bank (10) *
- Status Date: 07/19/2012 (not sure why this isn't updated yet)
- Actual Production Week: 45/2012 11/05/2012 (really hoping this is a gross overestimate and changes for the better)
- Order Entry: 07/19/2012
- Vehicle Assigned: 07/19/2012
- Release to Manuf.: 08/07/2012

archrr, I placed my order for a 2013 Q5 3.0T (US) last Thursday, 8/23, but my dealer hasn't given me any information on the actual production week. Where can I get that information???

Also placed a US 2013 3.0T order last week, received a commission number. My dealer said Audi has not yet assigned a production date, but suspects the 3.0s may not be ready in a timely manner. Told me to expect Jan/Feb of next year, earlier only if lucky.

What's your order status? Did they tell you to expect the production in Jan/Feb or delivery?

Status is I.S. Order Bank (05) = no dealer allocation yet. Told me to expect ~90 days from factory allocation to delivery. Thought they would be starting production on 3.0s in Nov or Dec, which puts expected delivery in Q1 2013. I hope he's wrong and things are sooner, but that's the status now. Curious if anyone is hearing other dates?

A commission number is essentially your order and tracking identification number. IS Order bank means that your dealer has your order but there are no allocated cars to the dealer that could be used to fulfill your order. Allocations happen usually middle of each month - it remains to be seen when Q5 3.0T allocations start though.
http://www.myturbodiesel.com/forum/f...y-thread-7134/ is a good read for the overview of the process. It's talking about VW but most of it applies to Audi too. Some of the information - especially the tracking stuff - is out of date but a very informative read nonetheless.

Not liking this part much though:
"Basically, IS Order Bank is a dealer wish list. If the order never receives allocation it will never get built.
When allocation is received at the dealer, the order system will ask the dealer which orders he wants to send to the factory. Usually this is by priority ranking but the dealer is free to change this and send any order they want to the factory. (An example is if they have 4 orders waiting and only 2 allocation slots to use - they can pick which 2 orders to send to the factory.)"
My sales guy said mine was the first new Q5 order they had taken so hopefully there will be no problems.

Ok, so I just talked to my dealer, and I'm pretty much in the same place as everyone else on here....
Order status: "05 IS order bank"
And my dealer is confirming they have no production date for the Q5 yet
