'16 SQ5 Ordered - MMI Questions
Hi all,
Like the title says, I have a 2016 SQ5 on order so I'm starting to make plans for its arrival and have a few questions about the MMI system. Namely, what is the compatibility with iTunes AAC files and what is the HD capacity on current systems? Can someone confirm that the best sound quality is via the internal hard drive or SD/USB drive (versus the AMI cable)? I am basically looking for best sound quality, track info, and album art.
Thanks!

There are rumors that the MMI system on the 2016 models is slightly upgraded (the 4G version), so who knows if any other things will change, like the HD capacity, for example.
I can only comment on the 2015 version: it'll play unprotected (non DRM) AAC files with bitrate up to 320 kbps. Internal HD (Jukebox) capacity is about 20 GB. Best sound quality will be through internal HD or SD/USB drive.
Just get yourself a large capacity SD card (or two). It's much easier/faster to pull the card out, bring it home and copy music to it, and the capacity will be much larger than the internal HD. Just make sure you have your music organized in folders, either by album and/or by artist. It'll make it much easier to navigate through on the MMI.

Audi never to old platforms and models not installed the new technology
I have access to spare parts catalog for MY 2016 and no change, only the 3G +

The rumors were starting to pop up based on this newsbyte that makes it sound like all 2016 Audi models will have 4G LTE...

I agree with you that it is unlikely.

Agreed. Doubt it is unlikely. Ive been trying to get my SA to call me back with a copy of TSB 2039515/2 for the last two days. I want to know exactly what it entails. I see in ETKA 8T0 051 431 is listed as "Conversion kit" but it is not attached to any vehicle model or year and doesn't have any details on what it exactly converts. Anyone have any more info?
