Default What fuel grade?

I just purchased a 2020 Q3 and brought it home yesterday. On the fuel door it says Min 87 Regular. The owner’s manual says use regular minimum 87 but then adds Audi recommends premium with minimum 91 to achieve the rated horsepower and torque. So what are owners using? Thanks.

Purchased my 2019 Q3 in Sept. and haven't driven that much so only two times at the pump. Not sure of the grade from dealer fill but first fuel purchased was mid grade and latest was regular just to see if it made much difference for around town. Mid grade at Chevron seemed to be fine and I can't say that I would buy premium but may later to see if there is a useable improvement . Try them all just to experiment. So far not impressed by the ave. 17.5 mpg but too early to judge until it has more mileage and more highway/freeway miles.

Stick to the recommended Premium grade. That is what the car is designed for.

No one wants the added cost of Premium Gasoline so now they're givingbuyers that option.

Not many care about achieving "Optimal Performance" so why bother spending money on 91 when 87 is sufficient.

Makes sense.

I fill up with 91. I pay to play as they say.

It says 87 on the fuel door, the car is designed to run fine on it.

I’ve been using 87 in every tank so far. My best mpg was 25.1 in mostly highway miles. If possible use Shell gas only.

And I've had my new Q3 for a little over two weeks, using exclusively 89 octane regular and averaging 23 mpg in combined small town/highway driving. Very pleased with the acceleration and general driveability - it ain't my old A6, but head and shoulders better than my most recent Q3 (2016)!
