I recently purchased a 2018 SQ5 and made the decision to buy the S model to overcome all the engine shortfalls the Q3 and Q5 have... I'm very happy with the car but am curious what "outdated tech" you are referring to in the standard 2019/2020 Q5? I feel these cars have almost too MUCH tech that distract from just driving the car... love almost all the tech in the vehicle and I find the ***** and buttons much easier/better to use than the digital touchscreens/displays. Interested to hear your take on things!

My feelings exactly re: most new cars. A stronger focus on a car being a car (reliable, sturdy body, fuel economy, handling, braking and non-shaking window glass, etc.) would please me more. I guess I am a living dinosaur at 78, but that is how I see things. Many things like back-up cameras are certainly fine, but something that just makes life "easier" for the driver seem not important. The back-up camera lets me see things I cannot possibly see from the driver's seat but auto braking can be replaced (and has been for generations) by being alert and physically healthy.
