(the official VW fix of course was a full new turbo)
Going to do exactly that until we decide what we are doing with it. From past experience, the wastegate actuator stuck is a good first thing to inspect. It's in Regina now where little salt is used, but it's from Ontario. The harness patch up job was done by the previous owner, so I may replace that, but my wife has her eye on a 2021 Q3 in ORANGE ! So who know what will happen.

Given your description of the local repair ecosystem, wouldn't a little investment in an OBDeleven or similar tool at least arm you with facts to help fight off either/both incompetence and/or dealer financial pigishness?

I have a scan tool, but in the past, the faults were just intermittent. Now they seem to be hard faults. My wife has her eyes on another 2020 Q3.

make sure with the 2020 you check for sunroof leaks. Run a hose on top for at least 10 minutes and check. There were tons of problems with leaks

Couldn't agree more. My wife had a 20 and the sunroof leaked badly. Dealer bought it back. She has a 21 and it's been great for her.

As others are saying, be careful with the 2nd generation Q3 due to many complaints about leaking sunroofs, and even with dealer "fixes" that the leaking was not resolved. I would be wary of the 2020 even if it has that awesome colour!

I had a VW/Audi/Porsche shop in Port Moody B.C.(German Motor Car) until I retired in 2016. I have fixed many a leaking sunroofs on these cars (mostly A4's), but not anything like the 2020 pana set up. Perhaps we will give this one a pass. Unfortunately, the rest of the Q3's out there are an assortment of bland colors for the most part.

Look for the Navarro blue. That's the only one my wife was interested in. Nice color in all light conditions.

I think my A8 is Navarro Blue. I guess they would match!
