2016 Q3 - Transmission and center diff oil change
Has anybody attempted a transmission or center diff oil oil/filter change on a 2016 Q3 with quattro? Any tips / tricks / gotchas? Where did you source the oil / filter kits? I'm having a hard time finding the center diff / Haldex kit...

There are four separate fluids in the Q3 Gen-1 Quattro 'drive' system:
- Automatic transmission fluid (or DSG "clutch" fluid if equipped with that)
- Bevel Box/front differential fluid (gear oil)
- Haldex coupling fluid
- Rear differential (gear oil)
I have done the transmission fluid and filter twice on my 2015 Q3.. Buy a service kit from Blauparts.

The 2015 thru 2018 Q3 has the same engine and transmission as the Gen-1 VW Tiguan.
The trans is a conventional torque-converter 6-speed made by Aisin (Japanese), model "09M".
The Ravenol TI-V fluid is a full synthetic specially formulated for Aisin transmissions.
You need a scan-tool (VAGCOM or OBD11....) to read the transmission fluid temperature, to properly set the level.
The almost identical "09G" transmission uses a slightly different pan gasket...don't buy the wrong kit.
The center diff is called the "Bevel Box" in VW/Audi speak. Need to look-up the spec on this gear-oil.
The Haldex unit needs a special fluid, I suggest buying the genuine VW stuff, and there is a filter screen on the pump that needs to be cleaned when changing the fluid. There is no replaceable filter on this Gen-5 Haldex unit fitted to your Gen-1 Q3.
Last is the rear differential, which has separate gear oil from the Haldex unit (which is bolted to the front of the rear diff).
