According to audiusa.com. That's 2 seconds slower than the X1. The Q3 may look nicer inside and out and have more standard features, but that's just too slow.

It's the same drivetrain as the Tiguan, not going to be much of a performance difference. Just head over to an APR dealer if you need more.

... together with tiptronic (not S-tronic), the 200HP motor, no Homelink and it appears not the latest MMI, quite a disappointment altogether.

I really do not want to pull an X1 next to the Q5. Having a 3-series there is bad enough.

Pretty sure that it's going to be S-Tronic... the euro spec sheet http://www.audi.co.uk/content/dam/au...cGuides/q3.pdf says it's S-Tronic and I don't think they're going to re-engineer the whole thing for the US market. Someone in marketing probably thinks tiptronic sounds better.

The Tiguan has the dual clutch in the ROW markets as well, but it gets the Aisin automatic in the US just like the Q3 will.

Page 64 has the gear ratios for the automatic, they're the exact same as the Tiguan's ratios.

Actually the Q3 is better equipped for the same price based on the current pricing guide. I'd much rather have a Q3 Prestige with the Sport package then a Tiguan R-Line. Power tailgate makes it worth it alone.

I just checked out the nicer R lines, and they're 38-39 grand. And that's FWD.

A top end prestige q3 with all the goodies, 19 inch wheels and sport package is 41k. And that's Quattro. The q3 no doubt has a nicer interior and more amenities. Does the Tiguan even have leather seats?

You can't win the pricing argument there.

This is most unfortunate. Maybe the RS version will get it right... I can only hope, otherwise i think i'd just get the X1

they lost me on this one. why the vw drive train? if we wanted a tiguan, we could have gotten one years ago. all the other "3" models have the audi drive train. this is nuts.
