Cold Squeaky Brakes

Anyone on here have their Q5's brakes squeak when its cold out? Not under hard braking but light pedal pressure.

Yes, mine squeal when I brake lightly when driving after the car has sat for the night. After the brakes warm up, the squeal goes away.
My former MB squealed all the years I owned it, even after changing pads and rotors several times. I can live with the Q5's occasional squeak.

Yes, our 2013 P+ 3.0T brakes squeak each morning. BUT...no more brake dust!! I'll take the cold-squeaking as a fair trade-off!

Mine squeals as well in the cold. Complained to Audi and they cleaned the shims. Was good for a while and then came back again...

Mine, too.

I have 7000 miles on mine after nearly 11 months. I heard squeaking for the first time. I am not concerned. It's a trade-off for asbestos. Brakes that don't squeak wear out.

I've got 300mi on my SQ5. Every morning when I am getting out of the garage the breaks make a sound that hurts my teeth. But it disappears very quickly. BTW, the rims are all covered with that black stuff already. I drive mostly on highways too.

welcome to European brake pads :) they sure do have a lot of brake dust too. so keep it clean.

^The good thing is that the 2013+ brakes generate a lot less dust than the previous versions. I've got 30000 km on my Q5, and I think the brakes are fantastic; very little dust and powerful. As Cooliman said, the only time they squeak is in cold weather for the first couple of applications.
