Q5 Factory Order Price Negotiation

Hi all,
New member and future Q5 owner here, go easy on me!

With the extreme lack of the Q5 with my preferred options in the SF Bay Area, i'm thinking of doing a factory order via a local dealer.

I assume I could still negotiate the sale price as if buying off the lot?

Thanks,
Patrick.

Absolutely. The dealer would have little to no carrying cost for a factory order so you should be able to negotiate hard. Steve

Thanks for the prompt reply Steve, very much appreciated!

Regards,
Patrick.

Make sure you get your price before you order. I did not have much luck in negotiating after the car showed up.

Totally - The dealer in my area is offering 4.25% off. I bet with some negotiation, it can be close to 5% off MSRP for factory orders. Good luck!

Totally agree with Xylar - got to pre-decide everything. You would be too tempted to get the car once it shows up! The dealer knows that and there would be no room for negotiation!

On my order I paid invoice plus $500

If you a member of the Audi NA Club for 6+ months, you can get 6% off the MSRP, plus another $1.0K if you currently own a 2001 or newer Audi (Audi Loyality discount).

When I factory ordered, I floated my option list and estimated invoice (from edmunds) option prices via email to all 8 Audi dealers in my region. I played them off each other until I got a price that I was happy with. Then I told my local dealer (the one I was most likely to service with) that if they matched the price, the order is theirs. They couldn't really refuse the sale. I ended up with 5.5% off MSRP with no Audi NA club or loyalty discounts.

The buyer has the advantage. You don't need the car, but they need the sale.

Thanks all for the input guys, going to work those dealers and see what I can get!

Cheers,
Patrick.
